Sali Mali Mugs at Adra Home

If you grew up in Wales in the 1960s and 1970s, you will probably be familiar with the characters adorning these Sali Mali mugs.

The characters come from a series of children's book originally created by author Mary Vaughan Jones and illustrated by Rowena Wyn Jones.  The first one was published in 1969 and others published throughout the 1970s.  The characters live on today in republished and new books, as well as an S4C series.  Even if you don't know the original characters and stories, it is easy to see the charm of the retro illustrations - rather like a Welsh version of the Moomins!  The mugs cost £8.50 each and there are four designs to choose from.
