There are plenty of prints around at the moment that rework images from cinema in a retro style, but Christian Jackson has done something slightly different, taking his inspiration from classic children's stories.
The style of the prints are described as hyper-minimalist but they definitely have a retro look, particularly in the subdued vintage colours used. There are 15 prints in the series, each featuring a different well-loved childhood tale from Hans Christian Andersen and the Grimm Brothers featuring heavily.
The prints are ideal for children's rooms and Jackson was inspired to create the designs by becoming a father. But that's not to say that they can't be enjoyed by adults too – the surreal grin of the Cheshire Cat in the Alice in Wonderland print (above) in particular would be appreciated just as much by grown-ups.
