Not an obvious midcentury piece, but this Kerstin Horlin-Holmquist-designed Gubi Paradiset Sofa is a wonderful Scandinavian design.

Dating back to the 1950s (1956 to be precise), it was designed by Kerstin Horlin-Holmquist while she working in the UK as part of a wider Paradiset collection. But the sofa is standout piece for us, with its curves, distinctive angled wood legs (in oil-treated oak or walnut) and buttoned back. There's also a solid beech frame here, as well as hand sewn piping.

Various upholstery options available, with prices starting at £3,409.
