It isn’t cheap, that’s for sure. But there’s much to appreciate in the Moulton sofa system by Matthew Hilton for Case Furniture.

The versatility of the range for a start, which includes two sizes of sofa, an armchair, a footstool and some corner units. All of which share the clean lines of this 1960s-style design, which also features a buttoned back and a choice of tapered legs in either walnut or oak. There are two fabric options to pick from too.

It’s the kind of minimalist design that’s retro, but almost timeless too and certainly versatile enough to fit into a variety of surroundings. Prices vary depending on what you opt for, but the three-seater sofa is £1,500 as a rough guide.
