Now this is interesting. The 1980s ZX Spectrum is returning, this time as the Sinclair Spectrum Vega.

It’s back with similar styling to the original, but obviously modified for the modern era.it is now an all-in-one controller produced by Retro Computers and backed by Sinclair Research, with the first batch being financed and sold via the Indiegogo platform.

When the financing is in place, you’ll get a machine with built-in gamepad and buttons, along with 1,000 classic games pre-installed. You will also be able to add additional Spectrum titles via an SD card, with more games also being offered free post-launch.

If you want one, you’ll have to pledge. If you pledge £100, you can get one of the first 1,000 consoles to market, with other offers if you pledge less. The campaign closes on 30th January 2015 if you want some time to think about it. See the site for more details and some video previews.
