It looks like something from a 1960s space age movie set, but the Roman Modzelewski-designed RM58 armchair actually dates from as far back as the 1950s.

The design from modernist artist and designer Roman Modzelewski was first put into production back in 1958 and has been sought after ever since. In fact, you’ll even find one in the permanent collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum.

However, getting one for your home hasn’t always been an easy job. That;s not the case today, with young Polish label Vzor bringing it back onto the market, using modern technology to recreate the bold design in polyethylene, finishing it with powder-coated steel legs. The finishes for the new version vary, with both both standard and glossy versions, as well as a variety of colours.

A design to get people talking, that’s for sure. You can pick one up online for £645.
