Take a trip back to the 1970s with the Adidas Archive M1 watches, which are recent additions to the sportswear giant’s range.

These aren’t straight reproductions of 1970s digital watches, but they do take a lot of inspiration from those original timepieces.

Adidas has taken a look into its own archive as well as having a look around at some old digital watches and matched the two up. The end result is the Archive M1 range.

It is a range too, with six different colour options available for this retro watch design, with the pick (or me) being the more simple silver and gold finishes, which really so capture the spirit of the original era.

Thankfully you don’t have to squint at a small red display with these new designs. The numbers are a little bolder than vintage watches, but still with an old school look about them.

Each one is made up of stainless steel with hardened mineral crystal, with a five link stainless steel bracelet and a minimum of functions. The time and a stopwatch seems to be pretty much it. But that’s the point of the range. It’s all about getting away from a non-stop barrage of information.

A simple digital display without an endless stream of social media updates catching your eye at the same time. Oh and looking good is an obvious selling point too.

All are available directly from the maker and all retail for £100.
