Not just another modern-day collaboration, these are Keith Haring’s 1980s Disney Swatch watches reissued after a 34-year absence.

That’s right, this kind of artist collaboration isn’t confined to the modern era. Back in 1986, Swatch produced a mini range of watches for Keith Haring’s New York Pop Shop.

Collector’s pieces after the event due to Haring’s burgeoning reputation, these reissues might burst that bubble a little. But probably not completely. After all, everyone wants an original.
Not that people will tell if you have any of these three watches on your wrist.

All of the watches are a mix of Keith Haring and Disney, but each offers an individual take on the theme. The red version has a striped band and a black illustration of Mickey on a red striped background. The blue-cased watch has a depiction of Mickey Mouse in dots and lines, with the black and white contracted with yellow hands.

Finally, a more minimal black and white watch has a black strap, a Mickey Mouse illustration on a white background and more of those yellow hands.

All have co-branding and some lovely packaging too, pushing the into the ‘cool gift’ category. At least, they do if you don’t mind paying big for a gift.

Swatch might still be affordable to some degree, but certainly not cheap. Prices are between £83 and £157.
