It's getting round to that time of year where shelves start groaning under the weight of novelty products. An early contender is this Wind up Pac-Man and Ghost set from Suck UK.
To add to the long list of products that have been inspired by Pac-Man, these are plastic figures in the shape of two of the game's best loved characters and are a potential stocking filler for gaming fans. Just wind the figures up and watch them go.

You may remember Suck UK's Salt and Pepper 'Bots from last year. Well, they've come up with a new design also inspired by retro technology: digit cake moulds. There are seven moulds in a set and, when you put the shapes together, you can form 70s/80s digital style numbers or letters (though you could argue they're not too dissimilar to the shapes in the net and ball rug featured yesterday either).
And though they are retro in their look, the baking methods are more contemporary. The moulds are made from silicone which means they are microwaveable. I've yet to test how this affects the taste of the cake, but it does inspire some nice packaging in the shape of old-fashioned looking microwave.
