I know very little about the history of the Clip Light, aside from it being French, industrial-looking and very eye-catching.
The clip is for fixing to a desk (or any surface), with the large retro-style bulb also holding the sheet metal shade, the bulb also acting as a ball joint for the shade.
If you’re going for a 1930s or modernist look, it’s a cheap addition to the home, retailing for £26.95 in either black or white.
