Girard angel
Send your festive wishes mid-century style this year, with the Alexander Girard Christmas cards available from Lagom.

The cards add to their existing range of greeting cards based on Girard's colourful designs. Girard apparently amassed nativities for the International Museum of Folk Art in Santa Fe (in term inspiring the recently issued nativity set) so it's no surprise these influenced his work. Shown above is a card based on a 1962 Nativity Angel. You can also pick from a card featuring a Nativity dating from 1968 or Flying Angels from 1971.

Individual cards cost £1.80 each, or you can get a set of the angels in three different colours for £3.40.

  1. Alexander Girard donated his entire collection of international folk art, not just nativity sets, to the Museum of International Folk Art! He also designed the exhibition, showcasing 10% of the collection, Multiple Visions: A Common Bond.
