At first glance, it might well have just rolled off the production line. But this Morris 1000 split screen car is well over 50 years old – and it could be yours right now.
It's perhaps not as perfect as the images suggest, but if you're after a 1000, it looks like one to check out. According to the seller, it was imported six years ago and have been dry stored since, with a mileage said to be a genuine 14,867. The brakes need a little work, but the engine is said to be fine and there's no obvious rust. The interior is also claimed to be original.
On the downside, the car will need registering, has no MOT or tax and needs a little work on the body. So you'll need to trailer it away, although the work required to get it on the road seems fairly slight, based on what the seller is saying.
Fully-renovated, these things go for good money, which makes this a potential bargain. Right now, the auction price is £500.
