Kay Bojesen puffin

Here's another addition to Kay Bojesen's collection of creatures – his puffin, which originally dates to 1954.

Yes, to go alongside the monkey, the dog and the bear, it's another wooden animal taken from Bojesen's archives and reissued by Rosendahl. This design, with its painted wood, is most similar to the colourful songbirds, also from the 1950s. Standing at just under 20cm high, the bright-billed puffin's head tilts to produce a charming effect.

It's available for £98.
