I thought I'd seen all of the truly beautiful classic lighting designs, but then along comes the Orient Pendant by Jo Hammerborg.

Originally designed by Jo Hammerborg in 1963, the Orient Pendant was hugely successful in the 60s and 70s and its not hard to see why.  It then went out of production, but is being relaunched later this year by Lightyear in conjunction with Hammerborg's family. The main shade is made from polished cooper with a rosewood crown and a black cord. The light is available in two sizes, the smaller P1 measures  25.5cm ihg with a diameter of 22.5cm, whilst the larger P2 is 37cm high and 34cm in diameter. They are priced £275 and £419 respectively.

They won't be available until August, but you can get more details from Utility Design.
