Looking to create your own authentic 1970s-style kitchen? Well, this 1970s Westinghouse self-cleaning oven could be for you.
Interestingly, we feel partly responsible for it being on eBay. The seller contracted us saying he had bought a 1970s time capsule of a house we featured on our WowHaus website. It has been renovated respectfully, but the kitchne didn't make the cut. Because of that, the oven you see here is up for sale for a modest price.
It is said to be one of the first self-cleaning ovens to be imported into the UK and was part of a luxury Poggenpohl kitchen fitted around 1976. it is in 'generaly good condition' bit needs a bit of a clean. It will also need testing by a professional too, being an electrical appliance.
If you know someone who can test and perhaps recondition it, this would make an excellent feature in a retro kitchen. It's currently at £49. More images and close-ups on the listing.
