Ceramic midcentury jug

Portugal has a long tradition in ceramic production. Some original midcentury designs have recently been reissued by E Stúdio – and very nice they are too.

E Stúdio is based in Caldas da Rainha, an area known for its ceramics. They're reissued a selection of designs that were original made by the SECLA factory, dating from the 1950s, 60s and 70s, and – from this selection – SCP are stocking three stylish jugs.

No individual dates are noted but as the jug above is named the Apollo XII jug, it's a fair guess it dates from the end of the 1960s/beginning of the 1970s. All the designs have plenty of vintage appeal, and are all hand casted and hand glazed.

Prices aren't too bad either. They range from £17.95 to £27.50.
