It looks like new. But this an original 1960s Dansette Bermuda record player on eBay.
That condition is, of course, down to the refurbishment of this particular player, which originally dates to around 1964.
The work is extensive and includes the casing being re-covered in some new ‘Rexine’ type leatherette material, which is described as a plum and cream colour combination. But make your mind up yourself on that.
Beyond the new covering, the playing deck has been cleaned, lubricated and adjusted, the valve amplifier has been checked and had new components fitted where necessary and a new three core earthed mains lead and 3 amp fused plug also fitted.
The player is now fitted with a modern stylus and cartridge which is safe to use on your stereo records, but not suitable for playing 78rpm records. I’m guessing most people will be good with that. But if you just want to spin 78s, contact the seller of the player, who will swap accordingly.
A preamp circuit is also fitted, as well as a plugin Bluetooth device which allows you to play music from your phone, tablet or similar device through the record player’s speaker.
One other thing is included too, the original legs for the player. All too often, vintage record players are shown off with the legs, but the seller tends to add that they don’t come with the Dansette in question. In this case they do, which is good news.
A proper auction as well, with no reserve. If you want to bid, the price right now is £142.
