Hard to find, but the 1960s-style Koziol Orion pendant lights look amazing, especially if you are chasing a space-age look.
Hard to find in the UK anyway. If you want to get some, retailers like Made In Design do the white and black finishes. But if you want the colourful ones – and I suspect you might – then you’ll have to go direct to the maker in Germany.
That obviously will mean more postage. But the price isn’t huge for these, which might offset the damage a little.
They are probably cheap because of the construction. The lights here are made of plastic – or ‘thermoplastic’ if you want to be precise. Whether they are designed to look like something hip and cool from the 1960s I can’t say. But that’s the effect you get from both the design and the construction.
That effect is added to be by the bold shades. There are seven options on that front, ranging from the bright to the more subdued. Each one is good to use on its own, built as the maker adds, they also work together as ‘harmonious lighting combos’.
This might be a light fitting that is loved or loathed. Not everyone loves bright colours and not everyone wants a plastic light fitting. But I really like them. There’s something of the ‘60s about them and something almost pop arty too. A fun fitting to liven up a room.
If that’s the kind of thing you need in your home, the light fitting sells for €69.95 direct from the maker. But note that the colour options come and go.
