Buy Syd Barrett’s Cambridge house

Syd_house We’ve already covered the auction for Syd Barrett’s belongings, now you Syd obsessives can have the roof from over his head, as Syd Barrett’s Cambridge house is now on the market for £300,000.

The house (pictured here), in the south east of the city, is located in a cul-de-sac and has 3 bedrooms, 2 reception rooms, a first floor bathroom and a 110ft garden. According to his sister Rosemary: "Roger loved the peace and quiet of St Margarets Square, hearing the children in the road playing and enjoying cycling to the local shops. He put his stamp on the house with frequent redecoration, building his own furniture, changing doors etc."

Obviously any artefacts not nailed down have gone off to auction, but it’s still a rare chance to own the ultimate piece of Barrett memorabilia.

And there’s around 400 images to get the points across. You’ll be talking the language of the builder in no time.
