BT Tower IV by Stefi Orazi

BT Tower metal

Stefi Orazi is no stranger to this site and neither will be the architectural icon in her latest print: BT Tower IV.

While other variants on the print have shown the tower at night, in the day and even using glow-in-the-dark ink, this is possibly its glitziest incarnation yet – printed with metallic foil. Stefi has also stated it'll be the last in this series so, if you've previously missed out, we advise snapping up one of the 100 in the edition now.

The print costs £85.

Shipping Forecast – Gale Warning Letterpress Print by John Christopher

Sf_lgred_bigbest
Artist John Christopher uses vintage wood and metal type to create unique letterpress prints including this one, part of his acclaimed Shipping Forecast project.

As well as using traditional painstaking methods which display tiny imperfections in the type and make each print unique; Gale Warning commemorates a significant event in British modern history: the great storm of 1987. Visually documenting the predicted wind-force, direction and air pressure of that memorable night, this work is hand-printed on to four separate sheets which have a total length of 2.1 metres.

The print costs £400 unframed and you can buy it from Unlimited Editions here

Wonderful Copenhagen Poster

Wonderful-copenhagen-andemor
Since we are big fans of Danish design, it seems rather remiss that we have never mentioned this classic poster design, Wonderful Copenhagen.

The poster was created in 1959 by Viggo Vagnby and is based upon a famous photograph of an incident from the same year where a policeman stopped the traffic to allow a family of ducks to cross the road in Frederiksberg. Although a popular image at the time, the poster fell out of favour and in1985 it was used as wrapping paper to protect a shipment of prints being entered into a competition in England, but by happy mistake, was entered into the competition which it won. The poster is now rightfully restored to its place as a classic and can be seen in the Danish Museum of Art & Design.

You can buy your own print of it from Posterland for 18.5 Euros.

U & I Graphic Art Print by Hunter Jones

  Uandi1
So many graphic prints look beautiful but don't say anything you could live with reading on a daily basis. This U & I print by Hunter Jones takes it's inspiration from vintage chat up lines and manages to come up with a romantic phrase that's also a type-setting pun.

The print reads "If I could rearrange the alphabet I would put U & I together." in a variety of  different monochrome fonts, punctuated with a red heart. It's printed on A3 110 gsm paper and costs £20 (frame not included).

You can buy it from Supernice here.
