Ken Goodwin op art cutting boards

Ken_board

Think an cutting board is nothing more than a functional object? That’s not the case with these Ken Goodwin art-based cutting boards.

All boards are handmade in the US using top-grade woods (including maple, cherry, walnut ad willow), with some rather stylish designs, including some op art, art deco and Mondrian designs – one of which is this Expansion board, inspired by Bridget Riley’s Movement in Squares.

It’s made of maple and walnut, with a flat grain and is sized around 20 inches across. You can order one online for $350 (around £175).

Conrad Leach Pop Art

683Pop art prints aren’t exactly hard to come by but Nest is currently selling original artwork by Conrad Leach. Taking icons from the 60s and 70s, Leach gives them a pop art makeover.

Elvis, Steve McQueen and Michael Caine are available with either a red or turquoise background. As these are original pieces (acrylic on canvas), the price is pretty high at just under £2,500.

If you fancy splashing out for one, visit Nest to view the complete range.

Sir Peter Blake Love Target limited edition tax disc holder

Blakediscltest
Want to own a piece of limited edition artwork from Sir Peter Blake for under £50? You can if you act quickly to snap up this Sir Peter Blake Love Target limited edition tax disc holder.

It’s one of a number of tax disc holders available from some big names in the art world, all sold through the online Art Car Boot Fair as part of its Pretty Taxing project. Blake’s offering is an update of his seminal ‘The First Real Target’ from 1961.

Just 500 of these available in a collector’s box, after which it’s likely to sell for an inflated price on eBay. But right now you can buy one for £40.

Peagreen retro art prints

Owl
Peagreen
is a Winchester-based studio, producing a range of designs from fashion through to home interiors. And now the company has a range of limited edition art prints for sale online.

All the prints are limited to just 75, with each numbered and signed by the artist and printed on 271gm textured fine art silk paper. Check the site for the full range, with each varying in style depending on the artist (although all have a distinctly retro vibe).

Our favourite right now is I Love Trees by Dan Walters, featuring this rather cool (and rather startled) owl. It’s sized at 350 x 350mm and retails for £75.

It’s a fundraising t-shirt for Luxuria Music, a US-based station offering Surf Music, Bossa Nova, Exotica, Space-Age Bachelor Pad, Jazz, Soft-Psych, Sunshine Pop, Wall of Sound, Latin, Go-Go, and Film & TV music of the past 50 years. Something for everyone you might say. And to keep the station online, you can pick up this t-shirt in black or white and in both male and female sizes, all featuring this brand new Shag design.

It retails from $36 (£18) plus postage, but be quick as sizes are already selling through.
