Joseph Joseph Ice Lolly Chopping Board

Rocket_Lollies_detail

As another Bank Holiday weekend approaches, we’re all hoping for sunny weather and this item fits in with that mood.

The Joseph Joseph Ice Lolly Chopping Board features rows of different coloured ice lollies that look rather like the 1970s favourite, the Zoom ice lolly.

The board is made from glass and is heat resistant up to 280c. It costs £15 from Beth Stevens.

Cadrona Retro Mailbox

Cadronamailbox

I’ve always fancied a mailbox but have so far not lived in the right kind of property, but if you do, then the Cadrona Mailbox is practical but with a great retro shape.

It is divided into two compartments, with the top part providing easy access for newspapers and magazines, and the lower half storing letters and small parcels. It is available in a choice of nine colours.

The Cadrona Mailbox costs just under £64 with another £32 for the matching post. It is made in New Zealand and available to buy from the New Zealand-based Mailboxes website but helpfully the company will ship worldwide.

The Sixlite Pendant Shade from Dam Design is testament to the fact that you don’t need to spend a fortune to achieve the space-age look, and that sometimes the simplest designs are the most effective.

The shade consists of a sheet of polypropylene which is made into the shade by rolling and slotting over a lighting cable.

The Sixlite Pendant Shade costs just £19 and includes free delivery within the UK. Visit the Dam Design website to order,

Modern 20s Mirror

802423_m

At first the name Modern 20s Mirror may seem like a contradiction, but I think I understand the reasoning behind it.

The distinctive oval shape has clearly been inspired by 1920s design, in particular art deco, but the simplicity of the pieces owes more to modern aesthetics. It measures 95cm by 47.5 cm, is made just from glass and costs £150.

The Modern 20s Mirror can be bought online from the Heal’s website.

Thomas Wold Block Party Credenza

Woldblockparty

Thomas Wold’s Block Party Credenza brings together the best of retro style with modern innovation.

It features sliding panels that allow you to change the look of the piece and which of your belongings are on display. The back of the unit includes a series of holes to allow cables and wires to pass through it without any untidiness. Pictured here is the “Hello Color” version which combines solid and veneer walnut with a decidedly 70s colour palette of orange, citron, lime, slate and antique white laminate pieces for contrast.

It costs $3,990 (around £2,500) and can be ordered via Design Public. There is also a matching bookcase available for the same price.
