Poppy Treffry “Flower Power” range

Tea_teabus

Poppy Treffry makes and sells tea cosies, bags, purses and a host of other things featuring shabby chic style appliqué images. Those are all rather lovely, but perhaps more interesting is the Flower Power range.

This range includes a bag made from eclectic recycled fabrics, a tea cosie and purse featuring a camper van and a purse featuring green peas and the pun “Give Peas a Chance”. There is also the “Make Tea, Not War” cosie which is showing its support for the CND movement and tea drinking, sentiments with which I wholly agree.

Prices start from £14.95 for egg cosies up to £85 for a bag. Visit the Poppy Treffrey website to see the whole range.

Edge Clock by Tomoko Azumi

Edge-wh

The Edge Clock by Tomoko Azumi is fairly recent design, but it would look at home amongst some mid-century styles.

It is made from solid aluminium and is available in two sizes and a choice of either natural or white-painted finish.

Viaduct currently features this Edge Clock on their website, but you need to contact them for prices. However, it is available on a number of Japanese websites including Hug Style Online, where they cost 8,400 Yen (around £65) which seems very reasonable.

Arte Espina Hippy Chick Rugs

0006-52-floor

Arte Espina have created a selection of rugs exclusively for Funky Rug, with the name of “Hippy Chick”.

As the name suggests, these are inspired with psychedelic patterns and hippie emblems. They feature flowers, butterflies, stars, moon, CND signs and of course, the words “Peace and “Love”. The rugs are so colourful, the word vibrant doesn’t do them justice. They certainly make a statement, but whether or not it is the sort of statement you’d want to make in your own home is another matter!

They are made from premium quality New Zealand wool and silk with prices starting from around £725. .Visit the Funky Rugs website to view the whole collection.

Vintage Rolling Stones Tour Posters

Stonesposter

Pedlars has just acquired a bundle of vintage Rolling Stones Touring Posters. Apparently they were discovered by someone renovating a flat in the early 1970s and have been lying around in an attic ever since.

The poster belongs to a set inspired by travel advertisements from the 1920s and 1930s and reproductions of the print this is based on are still widely available. Pedlars has had the posters’ authenticity checked so can rest assured you are buying the genuine article.

The posters are supplied box framed and cost £495. Hurry to the Pedlars website to buy yours now.

Alan Aldridge Revolution Teapot

Aatprev_1

I wouldn’t normally associate revolutions with teapots, but Alan Aldridge’s psychedelic Revolution design is decorating this white china teapot to great effect.

As you would expect from Aldridge’s designs, the pattern comprises of colourful flowers with the word “Revolution” in a suitably curling font. If revolution isn’t your thing, there is a similar “All You Need is Love” design.

The teapot costs £30 from Bliss Home. A matching mug is also available for £10.

Studio Clock by Charles Rennie Mackintosh

160707fgifts02

Charles Rennie Mackintosh designed this wall clock for the studios in the Glasgow School of Art around 1899. This may make it one of the oldest clock designs we’ve featured, although of course the one available to buy now is a reproduction.

Despite being created on a limited budget, the clock still bears Mackintosh’s signature style. It features dark stain oak with screen printed numerals.

It is available to buy online form The Glasgow Girls, priced £68.51
