Retro Flower Sticker Kit

603010lIf re-painting or wallpapering seems like too much effort, an easier way of changing the look of your room is with a few carefully placed wall stickers. New in at Dekko is this Funky Flower Sticker Kit.

The kit contains various flower motifs, including several large daisies in bright colours that will instantly add a splash of flower power to your chosen room. Fun, but not the most subtle designs we’ve seen, this might be a bit much to live with all of the time.  However, these stickers have the advantage of being easily removable without damaging yoru walls and re-sticking time again, so they would be ideal for brightening up a room for a party.

A kit costs £40 and can be ordered from the Dekko website.

Graham & Green Valentine’s Mugs

Fzw7486_m1Graham and Green are selling an exclusive new range of mugs, especially designed for Valentine’s Day. Whilst many Valentine-themed products are pretty awful, you wouldn’t be embarrasssed to have these mugs on your mug tree.

There are four designs available, featuring pairs of animals either birds, dogs, deer or the doves featured here. As you would expect with something aimed at the Valentine market, they do have hearts, flowers and the word “love” in their design, but they also use Sixties floral patterns and a cool retro font.

They cost £9.95 each. See the whole range on the Graham and Green website.

ISAK Wallpaper

Wallpaper6_1We’ve featured ISAK’s retro tableware before, but did you know that they also do wallpaper?

ISAK’s wallpaper is custom-made to fit your wall. You pick the design you like from a choice of five, send ISAK the measurements of your wall and in a few weeks you’ll receive your very own rolls of wallpaper.

Apple, Daisy and Tulip (picture here) are bold retro patterns, and Birds and Owls are quirkier typically Scandinavian illustrations, perhaps more suitable for a child’s room.

The wallpaper costs £20 per square metre and can be ordered from the ISAK website.

Panton Heart Cone Chair

HeartconeIts Valentines Day next week so here is a stylish suggestion for a gift for your loved one that will last longer than a bunch of flower or box of chocolates – the Panton Heart Cone Chair.

Designed in 1959, it is a slight variation on the better known Cone Chair. It is available from Nest in a choice of seven colours, but for a Valentine gift, it really has to be the red.

Sadly it does cost more than the average romantic gesture. With 10% off at Nest at the moment, it still costs around £1,650.

Sarah Young Fabric Kits

62510_marmaduke Artist Sarah Young’s work includes prints, paintings and a lovely collection of one-off dolls made from vintage materials. The dolls are absolutely charming, dressed in clothes from different eras, but sadly rather expensive at around £400 each. To create something more affordable and that links the dolls with her usual work, Sarah has created two Fabric Kits.

The kits consist of a textile sheet with an image of either a lady (Bertha) or a cat (Marmaduke). Both designs feature floral patterns that are reminiscent of mid-century Scandinavian fabric designs. The sheet also includes instructions for making them into dolls or if stuffed with something heavier, doorstops. Alternatively (if you aren’t one for crafts) the sheets can be left whole and used as teatowels, although that would seem rather a waste.

They cost £20 each and can be bought from Sarah Young’s website.

Keller and Keller Road Side Diner Placemats and Plates

Dinnerplates

Jukeboxes and diners probably sum up the America of the 1950s better than any other images. Products featuring the latter seem to be pretty popular at the moment and in particular, road side diner photographs by Keller and Keller are currently adorning several items.

Taken at the Duluxe Town Diner in Watertown, Massachusetts, the photographs feature condiments, stools and plates, and perfectly capture the atmosphere of these essential pieces of Americana.

The Lighthouse stocks their disposable Road Side Diner Placemats, a set of 48 mats, featuring six designs.

If you like the designs, but want something longer lasting than the placemats, the same photographs are also available as plates. These can be bought for $38.85 (approximately £20) from Sprout Home
