Floppy Felt Hat

19130857_mThis Floppy Felt Hat is part of the Heidi Klum for Accessorize Collection, but the supermodel is not the first person that this style brings to mind. Rather it reminds of me of stars of the 1970s as it seems like the sort of thing that Diane Keaton circa the Godfather or Anita Pallenberg would wear.

Anyway back to this hat – it is a gorgeous orange colour which is particularly good at this time of year and it is decorated with some brown stones around the brim, which add to its seventies bohemian vibe.

It is priced £25 and is available to buy online from Accessorize now.

Monsoon Zuria Beaded Cream Dress

15211413_m1While everyone else is dressing for autumn in black, grey and purple, you can stand out from the crowd in the Zuria Beaded Cream Dress from Monsoon’s new Storm Collection.

Its combination of bib front, long-sleeves and mini-length give is a real 1960’s shape and whilst wearing such a light colour in the colder months will feel decadent, it at least has sleeves to provide some warmth.

It is available to buy for £70 from the Monsoon website.

Blomus Fondue Set

FonduhigAlong with cheese & pineapple on sticks, fondue would probably be one of the first things you’d think of if you were home-entertaining seventies style.

Basic fondue sets have made a reappearance in the past few years, mainly in the Christmas gift sections of department stores, but this Blomus Fondue Set is in a different league all together. Made of stainless steel, it comprises of 24 pieces – everything you need for your melting & dipping.

It costs a whopping £295, so this is not something for a first-timer, but one for the committed fondue fan.  It is available from Perry Perry.

Postcard Radio

ImagemagicThis is a really interesting product, but I must confess to having no understanding of how the Postcard Radio works. It is based on radios from the 1920s and looks just like a postcard, except slightly thicker.

According to Middlesex University who produce the radio ‘it works without batteries and is tuned by moving a small metal plate or coin over the front of it’. It would make a good gift for wannabe spies who like gadgets disguised as everyday objects. The version with a picture of Winston Churchill on it, adds to the wartime espionage image.

It is available to buy from the Middlesex University Teaching Resources website.
