Arne Jacobsen 1950s 3302 two-seater sofa

3302

Some time back we featured the stylish 3300 easy chair by Arne Jacobsen. You might not realise that there’s also a sofa version on the market – the 3302 two-seater sofa .

Essentially it shares the same design, just extending things to accommodate two people. Indeed, there’s also a three-seater (the 3303) if you have a larger family. All were designed in 1956 for the Jacobsen-styled SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, offering up a chromed steel outer, wooden frame and ‘cold-cured’ foam for comfort.

Choose your finish in fabric or leather, with prices starting at £3,304.

Supermandolini can always be relied upon to produce something cool and quirky – and these Arcade Button badges certainly fit the brief.

Indeed, if you didn’t realise they were based on old school arcade controls, they would probably pass as rather stylish pop art badges. There are 10 buttons in the set, all limited edition and handmade and each one sized at around 2.5cm.

Bag your set for 16 Euros.

Mondaine Travel Pocket Alarm Watch

Mondaine_pocket

Not just a pocket watch, the Mondaine Travel Pocket Alarm Watch will even get you up in the morning.

This isn’t the first Mondaine we’ve featured here, regular readers will already know that this is modelled on the Swiss Railway Station Clock, first designed back in the 1940s by Hans Hilfiker. This particular version offers old school timekeeping as a pocket watch (with snake chain) or as an alarm clock, using the integrated stand. Aside from that, it has a quartz movement, glass and steel construction and a red leather pouch to keep it safe.

Yours for £135.

Santa & Cole 1970s Cometa hanging lamp

Cometa

It might look like a DIY project, but the Santa & Cole Cometa hanging lamp is a piece of high-end 70s design.

It actually dates back to 1975 – Charles Dillon did originally make it as a home project for his wife Jane, the light being refined for commercial use. For your money, you get a white kite-like cloth shade that hangs from a ceiling, with a hidden aluminium cone operating as a reflector and a red cable holding the on/off switch.

Just tell your visitors it’s an art installation, they’re sure to be impressed. Yours for £293.
