Metagram pop art-style London tray

Metagram_london

We all need a tray now and again – and you’ll certainly impress when you produce this Metagram London tray.

Loving the pop art styling, the work of Maria Holmer Dahlgren and featuring some of the capital’s favourite sites, as well as a few quirky 60s-style images.

But best of all, this isn’t too expensive – just £25. Did someone say stocking filler?

George Nelson Tray Table for Vitra

Tray_table

As well as having an understated charm, the George Nelson Tray Table is also a useful little thing.

Just think – you need a side table, an occasional table or a bedside table – well, this Tray Table covers all of that and more. Designed by Nelson back in 1949, the table has a simple adjustable mechanism to fit whatever height you require and with a choice of finish on top of the chrome frame, it should match any room too.

The only downside is the price, £355.68.

Mantel Dome – space age carriage clock

Mantel_dome

The old brass carriage clock isn’t what we’d call stylish – but we’re very much taken by its modern-day equivalent, the Mantel Dome from Innermost.

But that’s probably because those modern looks have more than a hint of the past.  We love those space age blown glass curves, that die cast zinc base and stand and the ‘face’ – which has more that a hint of George Nelson about it.

This Cédric Ragot-designed clock has just launched, available in black or white and can be yours for £95.

Plasticland’s cool retro-styled Christmas Cards

Plas_cards

It’s nearly November – which means Christmas is around the corner. And if you’re after some cool and quirky Christmas cards, Plasticland has two great sets that don’t cost a fortune.

Take your pick from Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree and Holiday Mix Tape, both sold in packs of 10 (with contrasting envelopes) and made of recycled paper, should you be worried about the trees.

Best of all they sell for just $14 per pack (which is about £8). Beats an angel and glitter combo anyday.

Nixon’s Rolex-like 51-30 watch range

Nixon_rolex

Remember the Toy Watch Fluo range we featured some time back? It was a take on the classic 1950s Rolex Submariner, famous for featuring in 11 of the James Bond movies. Well, there’s another watch treading the same ground – the Nixon 51-30 watch range.

Very much in the style of the classic Submariner, the watches are available in a number of colours and finishes, all with a a custom three hand Swiss movement, easy to read tide sub-dial and chrono dials, not to mention a hardened mineral crystal face and stainless steel strap.

Not as cheap as the Toy Watch, but cheaper than the real thing at £320.

Henrik Thor-Larsen 1960s Ovalia Egg Chair reissued – with optional sound system

Ovalia

A 1960s classic that’s been unavailable for 30 years – but you can now buy the Henrik Thor-Larsen Ovalia Egg Chair once more.

This Scandinavian design classic was first seen back in 1968 and the 2008 version is very much the same chair – an egg-shaped shell of glass fibre lined with polyester cushions from a choice of over 20 colours. You can use it on its rotating stand or you can hang it from the ceiling. Either way, it’s a stunner.

But there is something new for 2008 – an interior speaker package from luxury speaker manufacturer JBL, fully upholstered and integrated, allowing you to enjoy your music in your own little space. Available now, prices start at £4,950.
