Fontana Arte 1960s Globo di Luce table lamp

Globo_table

Earlier in the week, we mentioned that the Roberto Menghi 1960s Globo di Luce pendant light had been reissued, Well, whilst doing a spot research today, we discovered that there has also been a reissue for the Globo di Luce table lamp too.

It’s in the same style as the pendant light, but the table variation of this 1968 classic is very much the individual. Almost like a futuristic goldfish bowl, the lamp is a blown glass globe with metallic finish, chrome-plated base and a dimmer control for the halogen bulb within. And just to keep things minimalist, there’s even a transparent cord.

A wonderfully sculptural light, it sells for around £596.

Levis Vintage Oldest Oldest Celebration Pack – jeans, t-shirt and bag from 1875

Levis_old

Not just retro, the clothes in the Levis Vintage Oldest Oldest Celebration Pack are positively vintage, dating back to circa 1875.

The jeans are a copy of the newest addition to the Levi Strauss archives, a pair of work denims discovered in a Nevada mining town, made with 9-ounce denim and packing shank buttons, patented rivets and four pockets. But that’s not all – there’s also a long body undershirt of the day and a weather canvas rucksack, again authentic to the time.

All of that comes at a price – £429 to be precise.

Tom Dixon sample sale in London

Dixon_ball_2

We’re big fans of Tom Dixon’s retro-inspired modern design, especially the lighting (including the Mirror Ball range above). And if you’re looking to pick some up, you need to be in London this weekend for the Tom Dixon sample sale.

It’ the first-ever sample sale of Dixon’s designs, with upholstery, lighting and furniture on offer at up to 70 per cent off the listed prices – probably end of range and ex-display, but essentially the same stock you might well have lusted after in the past.

It takes place at 5 Cromwell Place, London, SW7 2JB over Friday 26th September (10am to 5pm) and Saturday 27th September (10am until 4pm), but we would say get there early for the big bargains. Note also that only cash and cheques are accepted.
