Oluce Lyndon 350 – 1970s outdoor floor light

Lyndon

The nights are drawing in, which could mean investing in outdoor lighting. And there’s nothing more stylish than the Oluce Lyndon 350 by Vico Magistretti.

It’s been in production since 1977 and remains as popular as ever. Take your pick from a variety of Lyndon set-ups, although we prefer the floor-based 350, which is a mix of 18th century floor lamp and 70s space age styling. That means a black lacquered metal structure housing four globes in transparent polycarbonate – the entire structure standing around 10ft tall.

If you love spending time in the garden, it might well be worth the hefty price tag – £2,203.

Oluce 1960s Flash lamp by Joe Colombo

Oluce_flash

Another stylish design from the mind of  Joe Colombo – the Oluce Flash table lamp.

Very much in the space age style, it was designed by Colombo back in 1968, with a reflector in lacquered aluminium and a base in lacquered metal. Paired with a powerful 100w bulb, this table top lamp should throw out enough light to brighten up all buy the biggest of rooms. Looks a very col object in daylight too.

A limited re-edition from Oluce, you can pick one up for around £413.

Orla Kiely mid-century Rowan Cupboard for Heals

Orla_1
Orla Kiely
has produced an exclusive range of furniture for the Heals store, all of which is worthy of your consideration – but we’re very taken by the mid-century-inspired Rowan Cupboard.

This walnut unit offers both shelving and cupboard space, the latter hidden by a pair of sliding the doors. Indeed, one of those doors features Kiely’s signature Stem design for a nice touch of added detail. Both that and the rest of the design are finished with a clear matt lacquer, so it should be good against the occasional bump or scratch.

Sold fully-assembled, it sells for £1,395.
