NGC DJ Mixer Stereo Boom Bag for iPods – with built-in radio and speakers

Ngc1

Perfect for those summer days in the park, the NGC DJ Mixer Stereo Boom Bag offers some old-school style and gives you ample opportunity to annoy passers-by.

A colourful set of decks on one side, a black and white image on the other, this Boom Bag doesn’t just offer storage, it also packs in an FM radio, a pair of speakers and connections for your iPod – so just like an old 80s boom box, you can annoy the world as you’re out and about.

Also available in an old reel tape design (see image over the page), you can pick up the bags for £18.99 each.

Microsoft to launch Joy Division-themed Zune media player

Joydivisionzune

If it was April 1st, I would think twice about publishing this story. But it isn’t – Microsoft really is going to produce a Joy Division-themed Zune media player.

Available from June 10th, the player will be limited edition, produced to promote a new DVD about the band and featuring Peter Saville’s iconic album artwork from Unknown Pleasures.

The picture above is a mock-up, but likely to be close to what you’ll get. If you live in America that is. You see, the Zune hasn’t been released in the UK as yet – which means a design forever associated with Manchester will not actually be sold in the city.

Coming soon: Space Invaders 30th anniversary t-shirt and new online game from Taito

Space_shirt

Space Invaders is 30 years old
– and to celebrate, maker Taito is producing a limited edition t-shirt and a new online game.

The limited t-shirt is a joint project between Taito and 55DSL and is available from 30th April. It should look something like the above (although that’s obviously a mock up).

But before that – tomorrow in fact – a brand new Space Invaders game will launch under the name Space Invaders World War. It’s essentially a teaser for the t-shirt, but as its Friday, it’s the perfect way to kill work time until the weekend. Check it out via the link below…

Tablo mid-century-style tray table

Tablo
Not the most exciting piece of home furniture you’ll ever buy, but the Tablo tray table does have an understated charm.

On top of that dark wood frame (available in small and large sizes) is a lacquered rubberwood tray in a choice of colour – depending on whether you want plain or bold. Ideal as a side table or serving table, ideal for plants and ideal for both indoors or outdoors (as it’s all wood).

Designed by Magnus Löfgren for Design House Stockholm, the tables sell from £124.50 – the one downside really.

Karhu Originals Supergreen – authentic 1970s trainers

Karhu_green

We have featured Karhu Originals trainers before – but not the Supergreen.

No prizes for guessing where the name came from, but you might not realise that these date back to 1979, still made in the same factory and using the same handmade methods.

A nylon upper with suede detailing and an AirCushion sole, you can pick them up for both men and women in sizes 4 to 12, priced at 99 Euros.

Get some sci-fi style with the Raygun necklace

Raygun

Straight out of a vintage b-movie and into your jewellery box – the Raygun necklace.

Available in three colours (blue, pink and black), each one is shaped like a classic zapper, although it’s unclear what either the gun or chain is made of. But as the price is just £10, you can probably presume this isn’t solid silver.

If you like these, the company also does matching earrings – which sell for £14 per pair.
