Ken Goodwin op art cutting boards

Ken_board

Think an cutting board is nothing more than a functional object? That’s not the case with these Ken Goodwin art-based cutting boards.

All boards are handmade in the US using top-grade woods (including maple, cherry, walnut ad willow), with some rather stylish designs, including some op art, art deco and Mondrian designs – one of which is this Expansion board, inspired by Bridget Riley’s Movement in Squares.

It’s made of maple and walnut, with a flat grain and is sized around 20 inches across. You can order one online for $350 (around £175).

Pig Bench – just like your old school vaulting horse

Pigbench
Remember that vaulting horse you had to clear on numerous occasions at school? Well, you can get one for your living room – the Pig Bench.

Ok, it’s not quite the same, it’s a lot lower for a start (even the dog or cat could clear it) and has much firmer padding, which means it can be used as a bench, footstool or a coffee table.

The legs are oiled oak, while the upholstery is suede leather. If you want one, it retails for £895.
