Citizen’s 70s-style Alterna Eco-Drive watch

Citizen_watch
This Alterna Eco-Drive watch from Japanese watchmakers Citizen hides a couple of secrets under its 70s-style exterior – it is solar-powered and radio-controlled.

Yes, no traditional batteries required, power is from both sunlight and artificial light, absorbed through the crystal and dial, then converted to electrical energy via its solar cell. And you don’t have to worry about setting the time either – it is automatically set via radio reception, so you know it is always correct to the second.

Other features include water resistance to 100m, date calendar and that retro design, which is available in black or brown. Available from Audiocubes now, priced at $299 (around £150).

Peanuts character scarves

Peanuts_scarves
Ok, the sun might still be shining, but it can’t last much longer – time to plan that winter wardrobe. And if you’re after something quirky to keep your neck warm, how about these Peanuts scarves.

Three to choose from – Charlie Brown, Linus or Schroeder – each with its own character and theme (we love the zig-zag on the Charlie Brown scarf).

All are made from acrylic and are pretty lengthy too – around 5ft with a 4-inch fringe. Each one retails for $28 (around £14).

Batman and Robin coffee mugs

Batman_robin_coffee

Etsy is always a good place to look for retro and vintage items – and that’s where we found these Batman and Robin coffee mugs.

They’re apparently vintage items, dating back to 1966, with cartoon takes on the TV series portrayals of the comic book heroes on both sides of the mugs. Sadly, being vintage and essentially one-offs means that they’re not cheap – $59, which is around £30. Pretty hefty for a couple of cups.

Superman clothes hanger

Super
If you’re short of somewhere to store your red underpants, you probably need a Superman clothes hanger.

It’s the work of Roman Ficek, who is part of the Comunistar group of new Slovakian designers. In fact, it’s such a great-looking piece of design, it’s a shame you’ll have to hide it away in your wardrobe.

No price is given on the website, just an instruction to ‘call for pricing’. If you do given them a call, let us know.

Waterloo’s Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds t-shirt

Lucy

Ever wondered what the ‘girl with kaleidoscope eyes’ really looked like? Well, according to Waterloo, she looked like the one featured in its Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds t-shirt.

Which means she looked like some strange 60s cartoon character with yellow hair and goggle-shaped glasses. And if anyone is in any doubt, the design is finished off with a retro-styled description on the front, as well as ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’ on the back.

It’s a women’s t-shirt, available in yellow or white in a range of sizes, all priced at $24.95 (around £13).
