Denby Jet Dots retro tableware

Denby_jetdots

If you’re after some retro tableware, you can probably have your pick at any vintage or antique store. But if you don’t fancy eating off someone else’s cast-off crockery, you might want to check out the Denby Jet Dots retro tableware.

As it’s Denby stoneware, you know it’s going to be quality – and dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. There’s a huge range to choose from and collect too – all featuring the rather cool spotted design – from this teapot and tea cup through to plates, bowls and jugs.

And it’s currently on offer in Debenhams. The 16-piece starter set is now £162 from £216, with other pieces all marked down too. For full details, check the website or your local store.

Retro Bulbo lamp

Bulbo_lamp
A few years back, we picked up a really smart floor lamp from a house clearance place – nothing rare or particularly valuable, but it was a really nice mix of coloured plastic and chrome – and very much like this Bulbo lamp.

This one is described as a sixties-styled light with a chrome lamp base (65cm high) and a plastic coloured 20cm diameter dome shade, in a choice of red, orange or white.

You can pick one up online, priced at £50.

Retro Rooms: Kelly Bryden

Kelly_1
Our Retro Rooms feature moves back to the US, with Kelly Bryden offering us a glimpse into part of her house in Wilmington, Delaware. The best way to describe it is to leave it to Kelly – and don’t forget to see over the turn for additional images.

If you want to see your house, room or collectables on this site, just send over a couple of pictures and words of explanation to [email protected] and we’ll show the world!

Over to Kelly…

"In the 10 years that I have owned my home, I have always wanted to redecorate this room, but never put much effort in to it due to the fact that we rarely used it.  It is a large room with a very large window and I feared that it couldn’t be re-done without spending a fortune.  Since my husband collects vintage glass and ceramic-ware, I thought that adding some shelving would be a good place to showcase his "finds", as well as give the room some much needed warmth and personality."

Fred Perry
seems up for using new/young designer to play around with its range these days – the latest of which is Jessica Ogden.

There’s a range of new designs instore and online, claimed to have references from vintage Fred Perry ranges from the 1930s to the 1980s – but with a very modern touch. The one pictured here is described as a Tipped Shirt – a pique tipped collar shirt with embroidered laurel made from 100 per cent cotton.

Available in a range of sizes and colours, it retails for £75.

Retro Trabant sports bags

Trabant_bags

Big thanks to Fabrizia for pointing us in the direction of the Logoshirt site in Germany, which is packed full of retro designs, including these rather smart retro Trabant sports bags.

The Trabant (if you didn’t know) was a small East German-made car, which has become something of a cult item in recent years, after many more years of being a joke. The bag uses the original logo on a typical vintage-style sports bag in a choice of colour.

They sell for around 25 Euros, which is about £16, along with postage to your country.

Andy Warhol pop watch set

Warhol_watchset
And today’s bargain of the day is…this Andy Warhol pop watch set.

Why? Because you get four Warhol-styled (and Swatch-like) watches. Each is sized at 1.25 inches x 9 inches, limited edition  – and the black one even glows in the dark. Add to that a rather smart case with "banana" fastener and you would be expecting a hefty price tag.

But no…you can pick these up from Fred Flare for $75, which is around £38. So by my reckoning, that’s £9.50 per watch, with the case thrown in for free.

You don’t find value like that often.
