Puma Breakpoint Collection Clyde trainers

Clyde_wimbledon

Seems odd that a trainer originally designed for a basketball player in the 1970s (Walt 'Clyde' Frazier fact fans) has now got a tennis-themed version – the Puma Breakpoint Collection Clyde trainers.

No, we don't understand it at all, so it's just as well that the trainers look good. For the record, these are 'inspired by Wimbledon', offering up perforated leather trims, a premium suede finish, subtle tonal stripes, contrast accents and limited availability.

That last point means you'll have to pre-order in either of the colours above if you want a pair – they sell for £65, with shipping in the last week of March.

Airstream Bambi 422 – cool retro caravan

Bambi422

The words 'caravan' and 'cool' used in the same sentence? We can only be talking about an Airstream trailer, specifically the Airstream Bambi 422, complete with that authentic steel and aluminium finish.

Perfect for a spot of country touring this summer, the two-berth Bambi 422 is based on the look of an original early 60s Airstream, but with a more compact size and all the modern facilities to hand – check out the gallery on the site for a look at the kitchen, bathroom and living spaces, which include air conditioning, an audio set-up, TV and a set of kitchen appliances every bit as good as the ones in your static home.

Obviously, this kind of mobile luxury is going to come at a price – and that price is around £35,000. Still, we can dream.

John Lewis Bobi retro-style task lamp

Bobi

Cheap, cheerful and oozing retro cool, the John Lewis Bobi task lamp is a winner on all levels.

Loving the mix of chrome and brightly-painted metal, but also the usefulness of the Bobi – you can bend it to your needs and at just 37cm high, it's small enough not to fill up your desk.

Powered by a halogen lamp (included), it sells for £24.

Carlo Mollino 1940s Ardea armchair

Ardea

Yes, you read it right – this is a seat from the 1940s, specifically the Carlo Mollino Ardea armchair.

Mollino came up with this design back in 1944, but to be honest it looks a good 20 years later – almost space age. A twist on the wing chair, the Ardea offers up a black painted wood frame, polyurethane foam seating and a removable cover in your choice of cloth. Not to mention some serious designer cool.

If you want one, expect to pay just over £2,000 for this Zanotta reissue.

Bush 1970s wall-mountable clock radio

Bush_radio

Bush
is still making audio products, but none quite as interesting as this wall-mountable clock radio.

We don't need to tell you that this has been dragged kicking and screaming from the 1970s, that orange moulded casing says it all really. But that's not the star here – I love that large clock on the top, the still usable (just) radio and above all, the option to wall mount the thing. Shame it's not got mains power as well as battery, but you can't have everything.

If you want it, H is for Home is selling it, priced at £70.

Hans Wegner mid-century CH008 low table

Wegner008

I was going to describe this as an occasional table – but would you really use the Hans Wegner CH008 low table occasionally?

So let's call it a low table, a cocktail table or a coffee table. No matter what you use it for, this 1954 mid-century classic is certainly a timeless piece of design, made of solid wood (ash, oak or walnut) with three angles legs and a choice of small, medium or large surface areas.

Over 50 years old and still likely to be sharp in another 50. Yours from just over £1,000.
