Le Corbusier greetings cards by Stefi Orazi

Corbusier_cards

Remember the super cool Modernist Christmas cards? Well, designer Stefi Orazi is back with something equally cool and very topical – the Le Corbusier greetings cards.

Topical because they coincide with the Le Corbusier exhibition and film season at the Barbican and no doubt, a resurgence of interest in all things modernist.

For your money, you get a pack of six illustrated cards in A6 size with envelopes, each with a different piece of the great man's architecture on the front. The coolest cards you'll send (or receive) this year, a pack costs £12.

Lampe Gras 205 modernist table lamp

Lampegras

A design classic that was beloved of some of the great designers – the Lampe Gras 205 lamp, the work of Atelier Gras.

This 1920s gem was much loved by Le Corbusier for its 'pure function', indeed he used it in his own office, like many other designers of the day. The modernist ethic no less. For your money, you get what you see – an adjustable work/table lamp that's ideal for reading and working, with a chromed base and head to add a bit of eye-catching style.

Expect to pay around £330.

Bsweden Konfetti – disco ball chandelier

Konfetti

If you've got a room to hold it, you can turn your home into a 70s-style club with the Konfetti chandelier from Bsweden.

Your eyes do not deceive you, it's a light full of disco balls, 90 in total of varying sizes, all hanging off a chromed-steel frame. Flick the light switch and they all light up, giving off those mirrored rays as a bonus.

We said you'd need the room and at 90cm (around 3ft), that's a serious amount of ceiling height. if you have it, you can pick one up at various Scandinavian retailers, priced around £2,700.

Jura J5 Signature coffee machine

Jura2

Not just your average coffee machine, the Jura J5 Signature coffee machine offers exclusivity and a finish to top all others.

If automated coffee machines were around in the art deco era, they would probably look like this, with the J5 offered with a Columbian walnut or northern birch veneer, finished by hand polishing 15 coats of high-gloss lacquer to a mirror finish.

And as a coffee machine, it offers up a Cappuccino, Latte, Macchiato or Ristretto at the touch of a button, throwing in a height-adjustable coffee spout, cup illumination, strength selection and a touch-sensitive screen. It's exclusively available from Harrods from June this year – we suspect for a considerable amount of cash.
