An Apple A Day print by the Keep Calm Gallery

Apple_day

Those vintage phrase prints show no sign of going away as we enter 2009, but when they're as eye-catching as the An Apple A Day print by the Keep Calm Gallery, we're not complaining.

Take your pick from the two colours above, both screenprinted onto recycled, off-white and if you look closely, featuring some apple images in each of the letter As.

Sized at 18 x 14 inches, you can pick one up for £18.

Another pair of Adidas trainers you ask? Well, this is no ordinary pair of sport shoes, the Adidas 60th Anniversary Diamond Superstars trainers come with added bling.

Poul Kjaerholm 1960s PK20 easy chair

Pk20

Best seen from the side, the Poul Kjaerholm PK20 is a super-slim and super-stylish easy chair.

Reissued by Fritz Hansen, the PK20 is another example of that stylish simplicity, with a frame of satin-brushed stainless steel and a seat of either wicker, classic leather or natural leather, all finished off with a cushion to support your head.

Unfortunately, this 1968 design doesn't come with a price as stripped down as the seat – prices start at just over £4,000.

Breakdance and Breakdance 2 reissued on DVD

Breakdance

Dust off the lino and slip on a pair of old school Adidas, Breakdance and Breakdance 2 are heading to DVD in their original widescreen glory for the first time on 6th April 2009.

Dusted down from 1984, the original Breakdance sees dance student Kelly (Lucinda Dickey) growing disillusioned with her mainstream dance teachers, finding solace with street dancers Turbo (Adolpho Quinones), Ozone (Michael Chambers) and of course, a spot of breakdancing.

Breakdance 2? Well, more of the same really, with Kelly, Turbo and Ozone using breakdancing to raise cash to fight a developer who wants to knock down the local youth centre.

Citizen Kane they are not, but if you want some old school fashion, tunes and dancing, it's here by the bucket load. Both are officially priced at £15.99, but expect the usual discounts from online retailers.

Ercol Originals Collection at Liberty

Ercol_liberty

We’ve featured Ercol in the past, but if you want to get up close and personal with the mid-century designs, you can at the Liberty store in London from this Saturday.

Ercol will be on the fourth floor of the re-designed Liberty, with all of the Originals (dating back to the 1950s) on display and for sale in both the black and wood finish.

While all that is worthy of your attention, what we didn’t know is that you can now get the Originals with quirky upholstered finishes, like the one above, We don’t know for sure, but we suspect that’s a Marimekko fabric, looking like a marriage made in heaven. We don’t have details of the price of these right now, you’ll probably need to contact the store.
