Cherry print is a great, easy way to an instantly recognisable rockabilly look, while firmly staying away from being too cartoonish. This Cherry Top from Hollywood Flame combines the print with a 50s shape to make a top that's very retro.

The use of a halter neck with a perfectly placed square-neck shape creates a flattering decolletage. With the bust emphasised by a ribbon and bow detail, the top fits the figure but keeps away from being too skintight thanks to a firm fabric.

There's an endless stream of 60s look coats on the market, whatever you're looking for, but finding outerwear from other retro eras isn't so easy. This 50s Pea Coat from Max C is a really versatile and genuine fifties look choice.

Many of the latest sixties style mini dresses play it safe on the print, in order to offset that daring hemline, but it wasn't always that way in the decade itself.
