Vitra One Day Sale in London – design classics clearout

Vitra_sale
Vitra in London is having a clearout for one day only
– and that day is Saturday 19th January 2008, with the sale starting at 9.30am.

And it looks to be worth the effort. In fact, Vitra claims some buyers arrive several days early to grab the big bargains, which usually disappear within minutes of the doors opening. Those will include an iconic Eames Lounge Chair, an Eames Softpad Chair (EA217) and a George Nelson Coconut Chair all in black leather and a Jasper Morrison 3-seater Park Sofa in brown leather all to be sold for a ridiculous £99 each (+ vat). In fact, everything will have at least 40 per cent off and much with 70 per cent off.

You’ll find the Vitra showroom at 30 Clerkenwell Road, London EC1M 5PG. We might well see you in the queue.

Le Creuset Kone kettle

Konekettle

Le Creuset certainly has a reputation for its cookware, but for me, the Le Creuset Kone kettle is the most eye-catching item in the range.

Available in a choice of colours including the two above, this is a stove-based kettle that’s good for all heat sources (including ceramic hobs and an Aga) with a 1.6-litre capacity and of course, a whistle for when it hits boiling, not to mention those modernist-styled looks.

If you have the right kitchen, this is a very cool item for a reasonable price – around £29.

Ken Eardley retro-styled ceramics

Ken_jug
We keep encountering retro-styled ceramics from Brighton-based artist Ken Eardley on various sites, so it’s about time we featured them.

All are hand-made, decorated and glazed earthenware with some very eye-catching designs of fruit and flowers, through to household utensils. This Baby Oval Jug in chocolate is typical, with 60s-style flower design and bold colours that should be good for use or display.

It retails for £20.
