Slipnomore Digging deep on the French design site Atypyk, we’ve encountered a very smart addition for your bathroom – this Andy Warhol-style Banana shower adhesive.

It works like a shower mat, just peel your banana, stick to the bath or shower (wherever you might stand) and its non-slip surface will stop you from slipping or stumbling as you wash. And of course, they’ll add some retro cool to your bathroom.

Three in a pack, with a pack retailing for 12 Euros (which is around £8).

Rocket-shaped ceiling light

O-Space Light

Foscarini_ospace1 As its name suggests, the O-Space Light takes its inspiration from the space-age design beloved of the 1960s.

It is available in the traditional pure white or in the more unusual orange pictured here. Once suspended, it does look just like a spaceship hanging in the air. It also plays cleverly with the light so that it changes form depending on the angle it is viewed from.

It is available to buy from Utility Design priced £475.

1950s custom-finished wooden chandelier

If you’re going for a period look, you need period furnishings  – and if you want to go 50s on an epic scale, you might want a 1950s wooden chandelier.

This fitting, with six arms, handmade passament hanging and a carved and painted wood body is custom finished and measures 100cm in diameter. All you need to do is connect the 6x 60w bulbs and choose your colour option.
