Adidas x Sennheiser headphones – old school audio

Senn1

One of the coolest sets of headphones on the market – but the Adidas x Sennheiser headphones come at a hefty price.

Mixing audio know-how with old school cool (they are part of the Adidas Originals range, with a design offering a nod to classic 70s sportswear), they use Sennheiser’s highly regarded, DJ-friendly HD 25-1-II headphones as a base, with Adidas adding the black and blue colour scheme, three stripes and Adidas logo. Not only that, they even come in an old school Adidas box and with an Adidas-branded bag – you can see an image of that over the page.

You can pick them up from the online Adidas Store, priced at £200.

It could be the coolest computer in existence, but right now the Philco PC is just a concept.

Price? Availability? That's not clear right now, all we have are the pretty pictures and a promotional video, which you can check out over the page. Maybe one for the Christmas list 2010.

Mintpass Cube – retro-styled MP3 player

Mintpass

Thanks to Patrick for flagging up the Mintpass Cube MP3 player, an audio player with looks that come straight out of the 1960s.

Four sides, three with those quirky old school meters (for battery level, VU and radio frequency), the other for connectivity, although it does also offer Bluetooth for wire-free tunes. Talking of features, it plays back your MP3 files, offers FM radio and has some chunky buttons to access it all on the top.

The downside? Right now it's not for sale, although with this being a finished project, there's no reason why it shouldn't make the market in time.

Sharan Wide 35 panoramic pinhole camera

Sharan

The humble pinhole camera has had another modern-day makeover, with the Sharan Wide 35 now producing panoramic snaps from that cardboard frame.

Yes, made of cardboard with the odd plastic highlight (specifically the advance and rewind knobs), the self-assembly Sharan 35 is able to produce 6.3 x 2.5cm negatvies using 35mm film – and not a mechanical part in sight.

All the parts are pre-cut and ready for you to glue together, with the kit selling for £18.95.

Aiaiai Tracks headphones – inspired by old Walkman headgear

Tracks1

A throwback design, but the Tracks headphones by Aiaiai offer audio that's very much geared towards the modern era.

The Tracks headphone series (headphones and headphones with microphone)  are inspired by the design of the old Walkman headphones, coming in a range of colours too, including some bright 80s-style finishes. But don't write these off as something from the past – the latest speaker driver technology, a craftsman finish and 40mm speakers mean a high-end sound with impressive depth. Compatible with the BlackBerry and iPhone too.

Each pack is self assembly with three colour options in each set, a carrying bag and some hip packaging, should you want to give them as a gift. You can see that packaging over the page, with each set selling from around 50 Euros.

Magno Wooden Radio Mini Edition by Singgih Kartono

Magno_small

We've seen many incarnations of the Magno in the past months, but the Magno Wooden Radio Mini Edition is arguably the most eye-catching – and certainly the smallest. Could be the cheapest too.

Hand-crafted in an Indonesian farming village (with profits from sales going to help the local environment), the Magno AM/FM radio has a heavy dose of retro in its styling, that wooden exterior actually made from new growth plantation wood – and for every tree that is used in production, a new one is planted.

If you want one, you can pick up this Singgih Kartono design for £125 at the Design Muserum online.
