Union Jack Ottoman from Graham and Green

ZRV4272_M1
Union Jacks were undeniably one of the big trends in 2010, and one that shows no sign of abating if this Union Jack Ottoman is anything to go by.

As is often the case with Union Jack decorated pieces, it makes a strong statement, and could just as easily look tacky as cool if in the wrong surroundings, but in a large room where the rest of the decor is simple, it could work. The ottoman measures 46cm high by 128cm wide x 78cm deep, with the internal storage space being slightly less.

The ottoman is available to buy online for £995 from Graham and Green.

Meyer Prestige Deco Toaster

365905_m
Not as solid or as impressive looking as some other retro toasters, such as those by DeLonghi, the Meyer Prestige Deco Toasters nonetheless offer a way to add a fun retro touch to the kitchen.

There are two 1960s-inspired designs to chose from; Hoops featuring a red/grey/black pattern of ovals and Checked, with a monochrome op-art style check design (pictured here0. Both variations offer the same features; namely 2 variable toasting slots, reheat/defrost/bagel settings and 6 position variable browning control.

The toaster costs £40 from Leekes

Eco Retro Desk Clock

Il_570xN_193091568
New York-based product designer, Amelia sells her wares on Etsy under the name, Vector Cloud. Amongst her many wonderful wooden creations, my favourite piece is this Eco Retro Desk Clock.

The eco part comes from its use of eco-friendly materials (mainly bamboo), whilst the shape of the clock is obviously mid-century inspired. The clock hands are reversible, so you can chose between black or white. The clock is supplied flat packed, but with assurances that it fits together easily.

Buy it from the Vector Cloud Etsy store, priced $58 (approximately £38), plus an extra £8 or so for postage to the UK.

Tu Dark Wood Flower Clock from Sainsbury’s

Flower clock
If you're keen to inject some retro style into your home but your bank balance has taken a battering over the Christmas period, this Tu dark wood flower clock from Sainsbury's is something of a bargain.

It's a simple wall mounted clock, with wooden petals radiating out from the central design, that would fit easily into a 1950s/60s look.

And the price? The clock costs only £18.

Karen Hilton Design Crowning Glory Cushion

300_black_pattern_crown
We have previously featured her Queen and Target cushions, and the Crowning Glory Cushion by Karen Hilton Design is another design from her Pop Britannia range.

The cushion is available in numerous colourways, many using two contrasting bright colours, but my favourites are ones where the crown is made from vintage fabric, set against the felt cushion. Pictured here is the black version, with a simply black & white fabric, but there is a white cushion with pink roses crown, bright pink with green paisley crown or green with a red pattern crown.

The Crowning Glory cushion costs £39 from All Things Original.
