Mo’Lectrics – classic moustache light switch covers

Mo2

Many of you will know that it's currently Movember, a month-long charity event when moustaches are grown for charity. Well, if you can't grow a moustache, you can get one in a different way – with the Mo'Lectrics moustache light switch covers.

Oh yes, it's also a money spinner for the charity too, with 50 per cent of profits through November going to Movember, reason enough to buy. But there's another reason too – these covers feature vintage-style moustaches in a selection of colours, looking more than a little eye-catching in your home.

They retail for £2.95 or you can get a set of all nine (pictured above) for £23.

John Lewis Connections-patterned craft accessories

JL connections
John Lewis has got some great retro prints at the moment, not least the 1950s-influenced Connections pattern. Keen crafters will be pleased to know that they've used the print across a range of craft accessories

The bold pattern makes a nice change from the chintzy designs that are often used such traditional items such as the sewing basket pictured. The range also includes a sewing case, pin cushion, craft bag and knitting needle roll. In fact, all that's needed to inspire a spot of making over the winter months.

Prices range from £6 up to £35, with the basket pictured costing £20.

Celia Birtwell candy flower apron for Hotpoint

Candy flower
In latest of long line of collaborations for the designer, Celia Birtwell has made a bit of unlikely partnership with Hotpoint to create this candy flower apron.

The apron utilizes one of Birtwell's most recognisable floral textile patterns, teaming it up with her Pop Check design for the aprons strings and trim. There's some pretty touches that make it nicer than the average apron, such as the gathered pocket.

The apron costs £35.

Retro Television Cushion

Jrpc2
Australian website Lark has some sweet cushions based on vintage-style illustrations by Sydney artist Binny Talib, my favourite being this Retro Television Cushion.

The front of the cushion has an illustration of an old-fashioned style television, that looks a bit like Willo the Wisp’s Evil Edna, but in red (and minus the angry face). The cushion is a cut-out shape that follows the line of the drawing.

It costs Australian $29 (around £18), although you can expect to double that price for shipping to the UK). Order online from the Lark website.

The Matchbox Light is new in at MarMar Co this autumn.

As you can see from the picture here, the light has been designed to look like a traditional matchbox and it opens and closes like matchbox, allowing you to control how much light it emits. Available available with either orange or yellow lining, the light measures considerably more than a real matchbox at 17cm x 17cm x 7cm. It is environmentally sound , being made from recycled cardboard and FSC certified paper.

Buy it online from MarMar Co priced £32.50.
