Dekoop flower coasters

Flower coaster

We've featured Michelle Mason's flower coasters previously as a way of introducing some flower power into your home, now a very similar idea from Germany's dekoop design group. Less obviously floral than Mason's designs, the stylised retro shapes combined with the bright colours of red, purple, green, orange, yellow or white will add some pop pizazz onto the dining table.

Made from 100% wool felt, they are sold individually for £7.25 each but would probably look best with lots of them strewn across a surface, as shown in the image above.

Girls’ heads cushions

Girl head pillow

It's hard to know what to call these items: describing them as girls' heads cushions belittles their charm somewhat. Each pillow features a different imaginary girl – a blonde, a brunette and a red head – illustrated in a style that reminds me of classic children's story books, such as the Milly-Molly-Mandy stories. The brunette is actually the logo of the shop, VintageJane, which sells these cushions alongside second-hand finds.

The design is silk screened onto the front and the cushion is backed in vintage fabrics. Measuring about 32cm in diameter, each cushion costs $18.

Globus Wood Chair

Globuschair

If you are looking for a good basic chair, then you may wish to consider the Globus Wood Chair.

It is a simple design, but its curved backrest and use of wenge wood gives it a dash of retro panache. It is practical too – it is suitable for indoors or outdoor use, is stackable and has been designed to support the back.

It costs £205 and can be bought online from Funkion Alley.
