Sunspel 1950s-style James Bond 007 polo shirt

Bondpolo

Sunspel has been making men’s clothing for almost 150 years – but has never had its own retail store. Until now that is. The high-end label has just opened a one-off Christmas store in Central Arcade, Covent Garden Market, London.

If you can’t browse that store, you can buy online – with items including the Sunspel 1950s-style James Bond 007 polo shirt. The short was worn by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale, but is actually based on a 1950s top designed for the Italian Riviera – made of a unique Sunspel cotton-based fabric, with a slim/vintage fit and single breast pocket.

It’s what the fashion magazines might describe as a ‘wardrobe essential’. And you can pick one up for £59.50. Actually, it sells for a bit less – quote ‘shop123’ at checkout and get another 10 per cent off.

1970s Nike Blazer basketball shoe reissued in suede

Nike_vintage

If you’re on the look out for authenticity, you’ll certainly find it with the reissued Nike Vintage Blazer.

This basketball boot was first issued back in 1973 – and if you want to pass your 2008 issue off as original deadstock, Nike is on hand to help. Check out the ‘faux scuff marks’ and oxidised mid sole for added age, although you might have some trouble explaining the suede finish and ‘varsity’ colour scheme to a seasoned trainer spotter.

Available to pre-order now for February 2009 delivery, you can pick them up for £60.

Vans Authentic – a 1960s original

Vans_60s

The name Vans isn’t readily associated with the 1960s – but that’s the decade that gave us the Vans Authentic.

The year was actually 1966 when this lace-up deck shoe made its debut, still using that timeless simplicity to sell units today. Take your pick from a seemingly endless range of colours for the suede upper, with a padded footbed, white outsole and saffle sole completing the look.

Yours for £38.
