Another gem from Ralph Lauren, with the Classic Track Jacket offering more than a hint of the past.
Available in navy with yellow detailing, the jacket has a two-way zip, ventilation, zipped pockets, a cotton shell and body lining, along with a polyester sleeve lining.
More classic denim from the Levi’s archive, this time the Levi’s Vintage 1955 sawtooth denim shirt.
It’s a rigid denim shirt in dark Indigo and made from 7oz pre-shrunk selvage denim. There’s all the classic denim shirt detailing – shoulder yoke, saw tooth pockets, and mother of pearl snap buttons, along with an original Saddle Man Shirt box.
You might end up looking like a cowboy, but if you think you can carry it off, it retails for £89.99.
Looking for a new hairstyle? Inspiration is at hand in the form of the History of Rock ‘n’ Roll Hair t-shirt.
Yes, everyone who was anyone (with hair) is here – from the Beatles to Bowie and the Ramones to Robert Smith, not to mention countless others you can enjoy picking out. Not enough big perms for my liking, but you can’t have everything.
We could probably devote a whole section to products relating to the Beatles, there is so much of it out there. Sergeant Pepper merchandise is particularly over-exposed and we’ve all probably seen enough of it. But the t-shirt website Mr Cloud has breathed new life into it with their The Beatles Opie T-Shirt.
The Fab Four are pictured in the pop art style favoured by British artist Julian Opie, who is best known for his artwork for Blur’s Best Of album. The t-shirt is available in a range of sizes children’s and adult sizes and a wide selection of colours.
Priced £15.99, it can be bought online at Mr Cloud.
If you like your vintage-styled clothing, you should check out the Aero Leather Clothing site, they have everything from repro vintage denim through to old-style knitwear and the thing they specialise in – classic leather jackets. And part of the current range are the Ace Cafe London limited edition 1960s-style leather biker jackets.
The one pictured here is the Ace jacket, but there’s also variations available in the form of the Racer and Rocker. Just 500 of each available, all designed in the style of the jackets seen at the Ace Cafe in the 50s and 60s, manufactured from old style chromed tanned, very heavy steer-hide or front quarter horsehide with nickel metalware, pleated back, side adjusting straps, two slash hand warmer pockets and the Ace Cafe London Collection by Aeroleather Clothing label.
Baracuta continues to bring out slight variations of its classic Harrington – this time with the G9 slim limited Punk Edition Harrington jacket.
So what’s new? Well, not a lot in truth. The jacket is a slimline G9, widely available in most cities. The difference here is the packaging, which includes three ‘punk’ badges and a box (in pink) that’s designed to look like an old punk album cover.
Whether these limited editions will be collectors’ pieces of the future is hard to say, but if you want to take a chance – or you just like the jacket – it retails for £155 online.
