Adidas Italia 1960 trainers get new reissue

Italia1

A timeless trainer from the Adidas archives returns for the summer months – the Adidas Italia 1960.

As the name suggests, these sleek and slimline trainers date back to 1960s, much loved by athletes at the Rome Olympics of that year as an all-round sports shoe, but now loved as a casual classic. This all leather reissue mixes white with blue, throwing in some gold Italia branding and that cross design on the rear.

You can see the latter feature on the rear image of the trainer over the page. If you want a pair, £64.99 is the price, if you're quick.

Strapless Spot Swimsuit from Warehouse

Swimsuit

Simple and stylish one-piece swimsuits are always a tricky purchase, with fit and flattery often being compromised for style points (and vice versa). The influence of a retro look has meant that the one-piece is thoroughly back to its best with versions like this Spot Swimsuit from Warehouse.

Providing a simple and chic retro style, this swimsuit's strengths lie in the silhouette with a lower leg cut and seaming to create a curvy silhouette. The strapless cut may not be for everyone, but for those who can the cut bares just enough flesh to keep this style ageless.

Get it now from Warehouse for £30.

Polka Dot Cup Dress by Rare

Polkadotcup

Polka dots are a print most often associated with the 1950s, especially when they're oversized and in kitschy colours. In the eighties, designers and high street shops alike loved to re-appropriate that fifties look, giving a distinct new slant to many style points. This Polka Dot Cup Dress by Rare is a perfect example of the clash of those two eras working in fashion's favour.

The structured cups at the bustline give this dress the eighties edge, aping the underwear-as-outerwear trend sported by many icons of the time. Finished in a bold, bright red the dress has a fun and youthful take on retro style.

eBay watch: 1970s Prinztronic LED digital clock

Prinz

Big thanks to Andrew for sending us this rather interesting oddity on eBay – a Prinztronic LED digital clock.

What's particularly interesting in this item is the condition, listed as 'boxed and unused' from its original shelf date of 1979. Which means it's not got a scratch on it and works as intended from day one.

For your money, you get a clock very much 'of its era', with that LED display, auto brightness control, snozze, finger touch controls and of course, packaging and instructions. Price? Right now just £1.99.

Paradisverkstan pink stripe vase

Paradisverkstan-pink-stripe-vase

A contemporary ceramic but this Paradisverkstan pink stripe vase is a perfect finishing touch to a 50s style room.

The Fifties feel comes from those pastel stripes which go perfectly with the classic shape of the vase. There's a couple of equally attractive variations on the website too, showing the vase with green or brown stripes. The Paradisverkstan pottery has a good heritage too: though it doesn't stretch back to the 50s, they have been producing ceramics in Sweden since 1976.

This vase costs £55.
