Lanvin Chocolate vintage poster

Lanvin poster

A sweet piece of vintage advertising pulled from the archive courtesy of this Lanvin Chocolate poster.

It comes from the archives of Lanvin Chocolat whose rich advertising history also features an 1970 advert featuring Salvador Dali declaring himself crazy for the product. This particular piece features Red Riding Hood feeding the wolf with the chocolate and apparently dates from 1961. Its bright colour and childish style is just as charming today.

The poster costs $14.99

Teenage Kicks limited edition book by Pete McKee

Teenagekicks3

We're big fans of Pete McKee's retro-style illustrations and if you are too, you might want to get your hands on his new Teenage Kicks book.

It's the book version of his most recent exhibition, which celebrates the good, the bad and the ugly influences music has had on fashion. All 22 paintings from the collection are featured, along with additional sketches, all signed by the artist and limited to just 500 copies in total.

Included with the book is a special etched piece of white vinyl featuring the image Booty and the Beat (above). The book and vinyl are packaged in a special 12-inch record sleeve, with Phil Oakey of the Human League doing the foreword. You can see that packaging over the page or head to the artist's site to get one. Price is a not-inconsiderable £120.

The Cube Fontaine by Claire Fontaine

Claire

Paris-based Claire Fontaine is a contemporary artist whose work intentionally looks like someone else's or indeed something else. I think we all know where The Cube Fontaine takes its inspiration.

Available at Colette, this is obviously a Rubiks Cube, but with a hip artistic twist. That being the colour, with the six colourful side replaced by 'views of the surface of the sea', which is said to mix 'the solid of the cube and the liquid of water while discreetly evoking ecological disasters that surround us'.

If that's a bit deep for you, let's just say an 80s icon has now been thrown into the contemporary world of art and available to you for 32 Euros online.

For sale: 1960s-designed modernist house in Bentworth, near Alton, Hampshire

Hamp1

Another midcentury modernist gem on the market, this interesting four-bedroom house in Bentworth, near Alton, Hampshire, the work of architects  Gore, Gibberd and Saunders.

Highlighted by respected architectural historian Sir Nikolaus Pevsner in his Buildings of England series as a good example of 1960s design, it has what's described as a 'dramatic' cantilevered roof and clerestory windows and has been sympathetically maintained by the current owner, who has also updated it for the modern era.
