Bow Print Ruffle Dress from Oli

Rufflebow

As the shops look towards Spring there's increasing choice available for dress lovers, which always means more options for the retro wardrobe. This Bow Print Ruffle Dress by Oli is a cute and kitsch Spring number with definite 50s influence on show.

Using a classic fifties circle skirt, the dress is given a unique twist with the use of ruffles at the bust, creating a nautical inspiration which works in harmony with the colour scheme. The bow print provides a kitschy element that is charming without being over the top.

The dress costs £30 from Oli, belt not included.

Arne Jacobsen 1970s Lily armchair for Fritz Hansen

Lily

It might not be everyone's idea of an easy chair, but by all accounts, the Fritz Hansen Lily armchair is a comfortable place to kick back.

Why? Well, this 1970s Arne Jacobsen design uses what's described as 'an extremely complicated moulded process' for the right curves for comfort. So even if it made of a laminated stained veneer, it's still going to be supporting all the right places.

But if it's still a little hard for you, you can always opt for the leather upholstered version. Finished off with those chrome legs, you can pick up the Lily armchair from around £1,089.

Michelle Mason London Calling tea towel

London calling tea towel

Like the Dupenny wallpapers and cushions, here's another design that's appearing in various guises, now in the form of the London Calling tea towel designed by Michelle Mason.

If you liked the London-based cushions we featured a couple of weeks back but couldn't justify the £45 price tag, the London Calling design is also available on a tea towel. This version of the design costs much less but has got the same 1950s feel and naive charm, complete with a bright blue sky. As a London dweller, I can only dream that such a scene faced me on a look out of the window!

The tea towel costs £10 from To Dry For

Dupenny burlesque cushions

Burlesque-cushion-gigi

Do you remember Dupenny's burlesque wallpaper, featuring vintage-styled dancing beauties? Well, some of the girls from that paper get to star in their own right, with these burlesque cushions

Choose from three designs: Peaches, Ophelia or Gigi (who is shown). Each is hand-printed onto silk to create an opulent, boudoir feel, further enhanced by the red backing to the cushion.

As well as being pretty, these ladies will also cost you a pretty penny, at £65 each. That's still cheaper than the original wallpaper though which costs £90 a roll.

Leather Satchel by Fred Perry

Fp_satchel

Just unveiled as part of the new spring range at Fred Perry is this very stylish Leather Satchel.

Yes, based on the classic satchel that you may or may not have used for school, it throws in a few subtle differences, boosting the size and offering up a quality leather finish, as well as adding in buckle fastening, two storage compartments, a metal Laurel badge and an adjustable/removable shoulder strap.

Sadly, it doesn't come cheap – the Leather Satchel comes in at £175.
