Sledge Chair

Sledgechair

The Sledge Chair has been designed for the Autoban series by De La Espada.  This low chair takes its inspiration from childhood memories of sledging.

The chair is available in a choice of woods and upholstery, but for the most retro looking option, the walnut veneer can't be beat.

It is available to buy in the USA from Velocity Design, priced $1645 (around £1000).  For stockists elsewhere visit the the De La Espada website.

Ladybird Sticking Plasters

Plasters

Mugs and notebooks featuring images from Ladybird books have been around for a while now, but this latest product is something a bit more unusual – Ladybird Sticking Plasters.

The plasters are supplied in a tin decorated with a classic Ladybird cover, "Doctors and Nurses", whilst the plasters themselves feature letters from the alphabet with a picture beginning with that letter. Ideal for covering up scraped knees from playground falls!

The plasters cost £3.95 and can be bought online from Colloco.

Lisa Jones’ Town on a tea towel

Town tea towel

Earlier in the month we featured Lisa Jones' stylish Town print. If you liked that print but the £65 price tag was just slightly beyond your budget, you'll be pleased to hear that exactly the same design is available on a tea towel.

Printed on 100% organic cotton, it's a simple way of introducing some colour and retro influenced design into your kitchen. And, at £10, it's pretty cost effective too.

Deco-style console table from Dwell

Dwell console

Dwell frequently crops on this site for its reasonably priced furniture with a 60s and 70s look. So it's a pleasant surprise to see them referencing a slightly older era as part of their new autumn collection with this console table. The clean lines of its walnut sloping legs combined with the black tempered glass top means the table gives more than a nod to Art Deco style. It's an elegant design and it will be interesting to see if they produce other items of furniture along these lines.

Though it's a slightly different look to some of their pieces, the price remains just as accessible at £179.

Pure goes space age with the retro-styled Sensia radio

Sensia

Pure has gone back to the past for design inspiration for its latest DAB/internet radio, the Pure Sensia.

Look familiar? Not a million miles from the classic Welltron Space Ball from the 1970s. But this is far from vintage tech – packing a 5.7-inch touchscreen interface for accessing internet, DAB and FM radio, as well as podcasts, listen again services and apps for accessing Twitter, Facebook and online photo galleries, all via the built-in Wi-Fi.

The whole thing is finished off in a bold, colourful case, with a moulded stand allowing you to angle it for your needs, with 30w of audio output and connectivity for your MP3 player or iPod. £249.99 is the asking price – it should be on the shelves in time for Christmas.
