Have A Nice Day poster by Takashi Furuya

Have

We've featured the work of Royston Cooper in the past, a British illustrator best-known his travel posters and his classic Keep Britain Tidy poster. This Have A Nice Day poster isn't by him, but it's incredibly similar to his work.

It's actually by Japanese illustrator Takashi Furuya, whi has taken inspiration from the classic British/London red bus and the past to produce this eye-catching piece of artwork.

The V&A is stocking it as part of its new range, sized at 50 x 70cm, it sells for a bargain £15.

Everywhere you turn right now, you'll see something from the Beatles – from the Beatles Rock Band game to the Beatles In Mono CD box set (and the mass of Beatles-related shows on film and TV). Children haven't been forgotten either – with Green Eyed Monster introducing a range of fully licensed Yellow Submarine t-shirts for kids.

They're very eye-catching too, with the organic jerseys coming with Beatles Pop!, Pulse! and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds designs, along with (of course) the submarine itself.

Long and shirt-sleeved tops available, with prices around the £17 mark. Check out another of the designs over the page.

Bardot Dress by BB Dakota

Bardot

The 1950s are in the midst of yet another revival, this time eschewing rockabilly or pinup styles for a more mainstream office chic, thanks to Mad Men. That can only mean good things for retro fashion lovers, with more and more retro styles becoming available.

This Bardot Dress by BB Dakota looks like it could easily have stepped off the Mad Men set, a show which gets the wardrobe right every time. In a stunning emerald green, a high waist belt, plunging v neck and capped sleeves give an effortlessly vintage inspired silhouette.

Max C Twist Frame Bag

Mac c bag

The classic purse frame handbag doesn't look to be going anywhere soon, and while it's been constantly reinvented it most often has some visible vintage inspiration.

This Mac C Twist Frame Bag leans on a retro feel to create a chic little handbag in faux leather. The mink version in particular has an air of pre-war chic, with the gathered fabric creating interest in a basic bag.

It's available now from Dorothy Perkins for £45.

Pierre Paulin Ursuline desk for Ligne Roset

Ursuline

We've already featured one stylish desk by the late Pierre Paulin at Ligne Roset, but now the Tanis is joined by something equally cool – the Pierre Paulin Ursuline desk for Ligne Roset.

It's one of the last designs Paulin created before his death earlier this year, although it is based on a mid-century classic – the 1950s CM193 desk for Thonet. For your money, you get a cross-shaped frame, curved side panels, room for your correspondence and as a concession to modern-day living, room for a laptop too.

Prices vary depending on your finish, but expect to pay around £1,441.
